Widely considered to be among the best-driving vintage Ferraris built, the 330 GTC is the connoisseur’s choice. It combines the sophisticated double wishbone suspension and 5-speed rear-mounted transaxle of the long-nose 275 GTB with the displacement, torque, and flexibility of the larger 330 GT 2+2 in an extremely usable package. Clothed in elegant Pininfarina coachwork, the 330 GTC was intended for the sophisticated driver who wanted an understated car that still delivered the world-class performance that has always distinguished Ferrari road cars. The GTC’s unique combination of characteristics have made it extremely desirable among modern enthusiasts because it epitomizes the front-engined V12 vintage Ferrari experience while also being well-suited to virtually any use case.

This particular example comes out of more than 45 years of single stewardship, during which time it was owned by a factory-trained Ferrari race mechanic who lived in Italy and went on to work for Luigi Chinetti’s famous North American Racing Team (NART) in the mid-1960s. He later moved to San Francisco to work for Charlie Rezzaghi, the local dealer, and later opened his own shop. He purchased this car in 1977 from a local musician named John Ramsey. The 28th 330 GTC delivered, this car is a European specification car, this example was originally delivered in Italy to a Sig. DiGianni. The car is reported to have originally been finished in Verde Chiaro Metallizzato although it was already its current hue of Blue Sera when the current owner bought it.

During the first few years of ownership, the car was used regularly, including an outing to the 1984 International Ferrari Concours d’Elegance in Carmel. Shortly thereafter, the car was placed in the owner’s garage, where it remained for decades until he returned it to running condition in 2017. The car is currently running and driving, but would benefit from systematic recommissioning before returning to regular use. Similarly, it is cosmetically unrestored, showing pleasant patina that the new owner could elect to retain if desired.
