Since its introduction in the 996 generation, the GT3 RS has always taken the already track-focused nature of the standard GT3 to the next level with additional technology. The most substantial change yet in the evolution of the GT3 and the GT3 RS occurred between the 997 and 991 generations. The manual transmission with its heavy clutch and shifter, gave way to Porsche’s lightning-quick dual clutch (PDK) while the unforgiving suspension of the 997 GT3 was supplanted with a setup that offered no less body control but transformed the ride quality for the better. Both of these changes made the car more usable, but no less focused, and in fact, it was considerably quicker around a track than its predecessor.

Compared to the standard 991.1 GT3, the RS has a 4.0 liter engine instead of a 3.8. The unit has titanium connecting rods and exhaust, has an 8,800 RPM redline, and produces 500hp, a remarkable 125hp per liter. Wider rear flares to match those of the Turbo accommodate larger wheels and tires (whose dimensions are identical to those of the 918), while a magnesium roof skin and carbon fiber deck lids and front fenders (with purposeful looking extractors to shed front end lift) reduce weight. In fact, the car is marginally lighter than the 997.1 GT3 RS. The revised aerodynamics package includes several other changes including a larger rear wing and the result is three times the downforce of the standard GT3 at speed. The resulting car is an absolute weapon on track, yet is also surprisingly usable on the street, showcasing the apparent physics-defying magic that Porsche’s engineers are capable of creating.

This particular example has been in the same family since new and has covered fewer than 16,000 miles. It was originally optioned with leather interior in black/GT Silver, extended range fuel tank, carbon ceramic brakes, front axle lift, sound package plus, fire extinguisher, luggage net in passenger footwell, smoking package, bi-xenon headlights with PDLS, light design package, Sport Chrono, white gauge faces, Sirius XM, floor mats, auto domming mirrors with rain sensor, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) including navigation, red seat belts, and illuminated carbon fiber door sill guards. Its original MSRP was $202,845. The car also has a few thoughtful upgrades including Dundon long tube street headers, Vorsteiner carbon rear wing on Salter Aero wing risers, Apple Carplay and reverse camera, Carbon side intakes, 991.2 steering wheel trim insert (black instead of chrome), JCR black shift paddles, and TrackSpec LWB seat recliner brackets on the driver’s side.

The car is in excellent condition and comes with window sticker, books, both keys, and numerous removed components.
