About OTS

Derek Tam-Scott is a lifelong car enthusiast whose parents met when his mother responded to a classified ad for a 1971 Porsche 911 his father was selling. At age 16, Derek began working at Fantasy Junction, initially detailing cars, and later writing descriptions, taking photographs, and occasionally selling cars. For six years, he worked at ICON Aircraft, a startup that builds amphibious sport airplanes, primarily in a marketing communications role. From 2019 to 2023, Derek worked at ISSIMI, where he held sales and marketing positions, which included writing and presenting the BTS with DTS YouTube series. He co-hosts the Carmudgeon Show with Jason Cammisa on the Hagerty Podcast Network and holds a BA in Science, Technology, and Society as well as an MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering, both from Stanford University.
